‘Totally Surprised’: Reports Says Tucker Carlson Was ‘Fired’ and ‘Had No Idea’ It Was Coming

Hold onto your seats, folks! Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News was not as amicable as the network made it out to be. In fact, sources say that the anchor was blindsided and fired from his position.

According to a source who called Carlson’s departure a “firing,” he was “totally surprised” and “had no idea” about the decision. Mediaite reported this shocking news, while the Los Angeles Times revealed that the firing was initiated by Fox Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch and other executives.

Apparently, Carlson’s firing is related to a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former producer for his show. However, sources for the Los Angeles Times have confirmed that it is not directly related to Fox Corp.’s settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.

The news of Carlson’s firing hit the network like a bomb, even shocking staffers who were close to the ex-prime time host and had no idea this was coming. This contradicts Fox’s statement on Monday, which said that the company and Carlson had “agreed to part ways.”

Despite the network’s statement, Carlson has not commented publicly on his separation from Fox News. Meanwhile, Fox Corp.’s stock price fell in the hours after the announcement.

As for the show, an “interim show” will start on Monday night hosted by rotating personalities, but a new permanent host has not been named. Carlson’s last program of Tucker Carlson Tonight was on Friday, and in that show, he told viewers, “We’ll be back on Monday,” further suggesting that he had no forewarning of his departure.

Love him or hate him, Carlson’s show was often the highest-rated cable news show, with the host advocating for an isolationist national policy and questioning the United States’ aid to Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country.
