Top N.Y. state lawmakers calls for Gov. Cuomo to resign

Top state lawmakers are now urging New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to resign as more accusations build up.
While taking to Twitter on Sunday, New York state Senate majority leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins released a statement suggesting Cuomo must resign for the good of the state. She said New York needs to govern without daily distraction.

Additionally, New York state assembly speaker Carl Heastie echoed the Senate majority leader’s sentiments in a statement released shortly after.

This comes just days after state lawmakers stripped Cuomo of his temporary emergency powers, which he was granted last year to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, two more accusers are speaking out about the embattled governor’s alleged sexual misconduct.
