Tim Ballard, ‘Sound Of Freedom’ inspiration, starts new anti-child trafficking project.
Tim Ballard Launches New Venture to Combat Child Trafficking
Tim Ballard, the anti-child trafficking activist upon whom the movie “Sound of Freedom” is based, is embarking on an exciting new endeavor that will bring together multiple groups in the fight against human trafficking.
After stepping down as CEO of the Glenn Beck-backed Nazarene Fund, Ballard has announced his latest initiative. He has also recently parted ways with Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), the organization he founded and which inspired the highly successful movie. In a recent interview with Tim Pool, the activist and former Department of Homeland Security agent revealed his plans to establish the Spear Fund, a coalition of anti-trafficking groups aimed at coordinating efforts. Ballard is expected to unveil more details about this project in the near future.
During the podcast, as donations started pouring in, Ballard expressed his newfound hope. He said, “For the first time, I have hope that we can actually make an enormous impact in the fight against child slavery.”
Following Ballard’s departure, the Nazarene Fund released a statement affirming its continued commitment to its cause.
“Tim Ballard is no longer the CEO of the Nazarene Fund,” the organization stated. “The Nazarene Fund remains dedicated to our mission of Rescue, Rebuild, and Restore. We are grateful for the support we receive to help us accomplish our mission and assist those in need around the world.”
Ballard’s exit from OUR came as a surprise, considering that the group served as the inspiration for the movie “Sound of Freedom,” which has garnered over $100 million at the box office.
“While Tim Ballard stepped away from OUR several weeks ago, we continue to pursue OUR’s core mission,” stated OUR. “We are thrilled that more people are learning about our organization and its rescue operations, and are seeking ways to support us.”
It is worth noting that Ballard was previously appointed by former President Donald Trump to a federal advisory panel on human trafficking.
