‘Three-Time Super Bowl-Losing Quarterback Tom Brady’ Will Be Roasted In New Netflix Special

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady will be starring in a new Netflix special as the subject of a comedy roast in 2023. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback will also serve as executive producer on the series, which will also feature other NFL  figures.

On Tuesday, Netflix announced that it will release a series of upcoming specials called “Greatest Roasts of All Time: GROAT.” Filming is scheduled to being in 2023 and Brady will be the first subject.

“To quote my good friend, Marshawn Lynch… ‘I’m just here so I won’t get fined,’” Brady said in a press release issued by Netflix.

“The special is set to tape after Brady wraps up his next season in the NFL, meaning Tampa Bay Buccaneers haters will have one more reason to root for the team’s failure come this fall,” Netflix noted.

Netflix Vice President of Stand-up and Comedy Robbie Praw added that the company “can’t wait to burn three-time Super Bowl–losing quarterback Tom Brady, who only went back to the NFL in order to delay this roast.”

The comedy special is not the only non-NFL on-screen appearance that Brady plans on making down the line.

In early May, Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced that Brady will officially join Fox Sports as its lead NFL analyst once he retires from playing professional football — whenever that actually happens. “Over the course of this long-term agreement, Tom will not only call our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt, but will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives,” Murdoch stated via Fox Sports’ Twitter account.

Murdoch first made the announcement during a Fox earnings call. “We are delighted that Tom has committed to joining the Fox team and wish him all the best during this upcoming season,” the media mogul added on Twitter.

For his part, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tweeted, “Excited, but a lot of unfinished business on the field with the @Buccaneers.” Brady, who will turn 45 in August, retired for 40 days this past January, only to make a surprise decision to return to the game that he has dominated for more than two decades. Prior to playing for the Buccaneers, Brady won six Super Bowls over a span of 20 seasons with the New England Patriots.

While Brady appears to be set to join Fox Sports after his playing days are over, it is unclear when that day will come. Brady has previously stated that he believes he could play until he is “50 or 55,” but that he is not sure he wants to actually do that.
