Three Men Killed in Southeast BC Avalanche Were From Germany: News Agency

Three German citizens were among the victims of a devastating avalanche that struck southeastern British Columbia.

Deutsche Presse-Agentur reports that Eging’s mayor, east of Munich has confirmed the news. Three Men Two of them were German and one was a resident in his small Bavarian village.

Mayor Walter Bauer stated to the news agency, that the other man was originally from Munich.

The RCMP says that Wednesday’s avalanche swept nine foreign tourists and their Canadian guide under its wing.

Police have yet to release the names or addresses of the six survivors.

Avalanche Canada has warned that the snowpack is extremely unstable in B.C. This is the season.

It described the avalanche in class 3, which meant it was large enough that it could destroy buildings and break down trees.
