Thomas Massie moves to impeach War Secretary Pete Hegseth
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has introduced articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, accusing him of abusing his authority by issuing an unlawful order to initiate hostilities with Iran. Massie also alleges that Hegseth has continued to use personnel and resources from the War Department without congressional approval, which he claims poses a threat to the Constitution and is incompatible with the rule of law.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) filed articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Tuesday, accusing the secretary of abusing the power of his office by executing an “unlawful order to impose hostilities” against Iran.
Massie also said Hegseth, by continuing to employ personnel and resources from the War Department without congressional authorization, has demonstrated that he “will remain a threat to the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with the rule of law.”
