Third round of August Social Security goes out in four days

The third round of August Social Security payments for retirees,wiht a cap of $5,181,will be issued on August 26,primarily to those born on or after the 21st of the month. The previous rounds were distributed on august 12 and August 19, based on birth date ranges. Eligibility for Social Security begins at age 62, and payment amounts depend on factors such as retirement age, contributions, and years of work, with possible monthly benefits ranging from around $2,969 to $5,181. Social Security is funded through payroll taxes paid by employers and employees, but its long-term financial stability is at risk, as the trust fund is projected to be fatigued by 2032 unless Congress intervenes.

When will payments arrive?

Retirees born on or after the 21st of a month will receive this payment on Aug. 26.

The first round went out on Aug. 12 to those born on or before the 10th of a month, and the second round went out on Aug. 19 to those born between the 11th and 20th of a month.
