New York City Mayor Eric Adams Admits Illegal Immigration Crisis, ‘The View’ Co-Hosts Disagree
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, recently made a bold statement about the illegal immigration crisis plaguing his city and the country as a whole. According to The New York Times, Adams expressed concern at a town hall meeting, stating that the influx of over 110,000 illegal immigrants seeking asylum could potentially “destroy” New York City.
“Let me tell you something New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to — I don’t see an ending to this,” Adams said. “This issue will destroy New York City.”
However, the co-hosts of “The View” had a different perspective. They dismissed Adams’ concerns and suggested that the solution to the crisis lies in central planning and resettling the migrants elsewhere. They seemed to overlook the fact that Adams is a Democrat and not aligned with the GOP.
One co-host, Joy Behar, described Adams’ rhetoric as ”dramatic,” while another, Ana Navarro, agreed and mentioned his previous criticism of the Biden administration. Behar also questioned who should be blamed for the situation and emphasized that the migrants are desperate people seeking refuge, not tourists.
Sunny Hostin, another co-host, brought up the Statue of Liberty and expressed disappointment in Mayor Adams for not embracing the idea of accepting immigrants. She also mentioned the financial aid that New York received from the state and federal government, suggesting that Adams should be grateful for the support.

Behar then mistakenly addressed Alyssa Farah Griffin, a guest on the show, as a Republican and questioned why Republicans, who typically advocate for states’ rights, would seek help from the federal government. Griffin corrected Behar, highlighting that the issue is a result of Biden’s presidency and the need for a functioning immigration system.
Joy goes on to argue that we should not talk about drug trafficking when we discuss securing the border:

Ultimately, “The View” co-hosts suggested that the solution to the crisis is to resettle the illegal immigrants in other parts of the country. They argued that the United States is a massive country with ample space for relocation. However, they failed to address the logistical challenges and the financial burden that such a massive resettlement would impose on other communities.

While Mayor Adams acknowledges the severity of the issue, the co-hosts downplay it and propose solutions that may not be feasible or practical. The debate highlights the complexities surrounding immigration and the need for a comprehensive and effective immigration system.
