‘The Last Of Us’ Star Says Series’ Lead Character Made ‘Right Decision’ In Finale

Bella Ramsey, who portrays Ellie in ‘The Last of Us’, thinks the lead character, Joel, made the correct choice in the series’ first season finale. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Ramsey expressed her thoughts on Pedro Pascal’s character’s dilemma when he had to choose between saving a child or humanity in the zombie-infested show. The series revolved around Joel and Ellie, who are in search of a cure in a world overrun by zombies created by a fungal infection.

Ramsey opined that “I mean, I think he made the right decision,” Ramsey replied to a fan question, adding that “I don’t think it was even a decision for him. There was no other option other than to save her. Because … he did save the world. But, like, his world. That’s so cringy but it’s kind of true.”

Ramsey also read out a fan comment that explained Joel’s thought process in the end, which she agreed with.

After the series finale, fans expressed mixed reactions on social media, noting that many supported Joel’s actions, while others claimed that what he did was selfish, according to The Guardian.
