“The Flash” Star Ezra Miller Says Recent Controversies The Result Of “Complex Mental Health Issues”, Claims To Have “Begun Ongoing Treatment”
After six months of doing their best Reverse-Flash impression, The Flash star Ezra Miller has finally addressed their storm of recent controversies, attributing them to “complex mental health issues” and claiming to have “begun ongoing treatment” in order to get life back on track.

In a brief statement provided exclusively to Variety on August 15th, the elusive actor responded to the numerous grooming accusations, arrests, and other legal complications which they faced over the past year by explaining, “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.”
“I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior,” the DCEU star added. “I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Miller’s apology comes just three days after an alleged insider source told The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros. Discovery was weighing three specific options for how to handle The Flash’s release in light of its star’s ongoing drama – which, as the outlet noted, have done little to prevent the film from “testing well” among test audiences.
These included canceling the film outright, pulling Miller off of press tours for the film and recasting their role as The Scarlet Speedster, and in the scenario which ultimately came to pass, the actor seeking professional help and explaining their recent behavior in a later interview.

In the most recent incident in Miller’s Wild Ride, the actor was charged by Vermont State Police with felony burglary over an incident which took place earlier this year on May 1st.
“At approximately 5:55 p.m., the Vermont State Police was notified of a burglary complaint at a residence [belonging to victim Isaac B. Winokur] on County Road in the town of Stamford, Vermont,” wrote the VSP in an official press release.

“The initial findings indicated that several bottles of alcohol were taken from within the residence while the homeowners were not present,” they added. “As a result of an investigation that included surveillance videos and statements, probable cause was found to charge Ezra M. Miller with the offense of felony burglary into an unoccupied dwelling.”
Ultimately, said authorities, Miller “was located on August 7th at approximately 11:23 PM and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on Sept. 26 at 8:15 AM for arraignment on the burglary charge.”

In the only direct mention of the film made by the newly-merged entity’s CEO since the actor’s rampage began, WBD head David Zaslav confirmed investors during the company’s recent Q2 2022 quarterly earnings call that “We have some great DC films coming up — Black Adam, Shazam, and Flash – and we’re working on all of those.”
“We’re very excited about them,” he added.
