‘The Biggest Sellout In F***ing History’: Pink Mocks Rolling Stone Magazine During Instagram Rant

Singer songwriter Pink is not a fan of Rolling Stone magazine.

The 42-year-old rocker made her strong opinions known after the publication posted a recent article documenting the top 25 Grammys performances of all time. Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, came down hard on Rolling Stone for being out of touch and “irrelevant.”

“Bahahahaha you guys have been irrelevant since 1990,” Pink shared in the Instagram comments of the article, the New York Post reported.

Many other commenters also disagreed with some additions to the “Greatest Grammy Performances” list, which included Dua Lipa & St Vincent, plus Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B doing their infamous rendition of “WAP” in 2021.

“This lost its credibility right from the get go at #25,” one follower said of Dua Lipa making the list.

“Lost me at Dua Lipa,” someone else commented.

“This has to be a joke,” another person agreed.

Pink continued her rant against Rolling Stone, waxing poetic on what the magazine used to be compared to what she believes it’s become.

“This is the magazine that used to feature people like John Lennon and Muddy Waters. Hunter S Thompson wrote political pieces. They put Tina Turner on their cover. Then they sold out and all credibility went to s*** when ‘style over substance’ and ‘revenue over authenticity’ went into play,” the singer wrote.

“That’s when [‘Jersey Shore’ star] Snooki became acceptable coverage. Give me a f***ing break. Do your homework. You don’t have to like me or my music or anything about me- and believe me I could give a s***- but this is the biggest sellout in f***ing history when it comes to a publication we all once trusted,” Pink continued.

Snooki was not the only controversy the publication faced. It also faced a backlash after it featured one of the Boston Bombers on its cover, and for a 2014 article about an alleged gang rape that turned out to be false, resulting in lawsuits against the magazine.

Pink went on to explain how she’s not the only industry professional who feels this way.

“F*** rolling stone. And I’ve felt that way for decades as so many of my favorite artists and my peers have,” Pink wrote.

“This isn’t just about their horrendous opinion of ‘rating Grammy performances’. It’s decades of wasting Trees and people’s time,” the “What About Us” singer concluded.

Pink performed at the Grammys multiple times, including in 2010, 2014, 2017, and 2021, the Post noted. She was also interviewed by Rolling Stone in 2002.

Plenty of followers on Twitter agreed with the singer’s assessment of Rolling Stone and how quality has gone downhill over the years.

“Let’s be honest, @Pink is 100% right about the integrity of @RollingStone. It has become one of the most biased pieces of rubbish in the media circus,” one person shared.

Another wrote: “This is what i love. she knows about music, the history of music because she loves it and forms her own opinions regardless of the ‘popularity’ of a magazine. rolling stone used to be the coolest magazine around, long before i was alive. it’s a shame. @Pink.”
