Texas Places Shipping Containers for El Paso Border Barrier

Texas increased its use of shipping containers in El Paso to help secure the border. It placed nearly a dozen containers along El Paso’s Rio Grande, in addition to over a mile of razor wire fencing.

Officials from the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), stated that Governor Greg Abbott had ordered more than a dozen shipping container to be placed along El Paso’s border on Tuesday. According to Seth Christensen (TDEM spokesman), the governor ordered that containers be placed by TDEM in locations designated by the Texas Military Department or the Department of Public Safety. The agency suggested that there could be more.
