Rafael McDonnell of the Resource Center, an agency advocating for the LGBT community, also criticized the Rangers for their reluctance to embrace this event.
While the team’s ownership has not made any explicit homophobic statements, some individuals, such as writer Alex Plinck, believe that their actions speak louder than words.
Plinck questions why the team has not organized a “pride” night when they have numerous other theme nights throughout the season.
On the other hand, Amber Harding, writing for Outkick, defended the team’s decision, citing negative consequences faced by other teams that have hosted controversial events.
