Tennessee House Passes Bill Banning Medical Gender Transitions of Children 77-16

Similar bills were also popular in other Republican-led states like South Carolina, Mississippi, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

In the meantime, the American Civil Liberties Union Signaled If the bill is made into law, it will challenge it in court. “All Tennesseans should have access to the health care they need to survive and thrive,” Lucas Cameron-Vaughn (an ACLU-TN staff attorney), made the observation in a statement, before proceeding to argue “Legislators are risking trans young people’s health, wellbeing and safety with this dangerous legislation.”

The investigation first prompted Republican Gov. Bill Lee to call for an investigation into Vanderbilt University Medical Center in September.
