In an episode of Cruz’s podcast “Verdict,” he stated that it is surprising that woke corporations, including Bud Light, have condescended to their customers by assuming they are unintelligent. The Texas senator expressed concern that more large corporations are embracing left-wing ideals and using controversial spokespeople like this transgender influencer.

Cruz further added that it begs the question whether the advertising team at Bud Light has ever met a typical consumer who drinks Bud Light regularly. He also criticized the company for choosing to focus more on gaining praise on Twitter and disregarding the desires of their customer base. Cruz cited the NFL as another corporation that looks down on its fan base and expressed that people are starting to get upset over perceived slights. Although he did mention that there has been resistance to boycotts from the right, he acknowledged that the “Go woke, Go broke” movement has had some impact on the company’s market share.

Cruz advised companies to avoid wading into politics, particularly on divisive issues like transgender rights, and instead, concentrate on their core products. He wonders why a beer company would feel the need to take a stance on such matters.
