Ted Cruz Tees Off On Dr. Fauci: ‘Done More Damage Than Any Bureaucrat In The History Of The United States’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci Monday interview in which he spoke out about the harm he did to the United States by the policies he endorsed throughout the COVID-19 epidemic.

Fauci, who was the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases between 1984 and 2022 and chief medical adviser to the president between 2021 and 2022, retired in December.

Cruz’s remarks to Fox Business follow a weekend report that revealed that the Department of Energy concluded that the pandemic began in a Chinese lab in Wuhan.

“Dr. Fauci’s behavior on this has been abominable,” Cruz said. “I think he has done more damage than any bureaucrat in the history of the United States. He has championed policies that have hurt millions of Americans, hurt millions of school kids in particular.”

“And he has also done more to damage the credibility of the United States government when it comes to medical and scientific advice because Dr. Fauci allowed his advice to be politicized,” He continued. “We know Dr. Fauci in writing asked Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook to suppress references to the origin of COVID being from a Chinese government lab.”

Cruz stated that Fauci believed he did it partly because “there’s a very real possibility that Fauci himself bears culpability.”

“I believe Dr. Fauci has lied to Congress, which is a felony, when he has stated that the federal government did not fund gain of function research in in the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Cruz said. “Since then, the National Institutes for Health in writing has contradicted that. And if the Biden Justice Department were enforcing the law, they ought to be investigating Dr. Fauci for lying to Congress, which is a federal crime. To date, the Biden DOJ has been too political to hold Dr. Fauci accountable.”

He has advocated policies that have caused harm to millions of Americans and millions of school children in particular. He has done more damage to the US government’s credibility when it comes medical and scientific advice. Dr. Fauci also allowed his advice to become politicized. We know that Dr. Fauci asked Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook, to remove references to COVID’s origin from a Chinese government laboratory. Fauci may have been partly responsible for his actions. When Dr. Fauci claimed that gain of function research was not funded by the federal government in the Wuhan Institute of Virology, I believe it is a felony. Since then, the National Institutes for Health has in writing contradicted that. The Biden Justice Department should have been investigating Dr. Fauci, who is accused of lying to Congress. It’s a federal crime. Bis now, Dr. Fauci has not been held accountable by the Biden DOJ.
