Ted Cruz Grills FBI Deputy Director Over Alleged Biden Bribery Scheme

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) didn’t hold back during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, where he questioned FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate about alleged audio tapes of then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden speaking with a Ukrainian executive who may have paid bribes to both of them.

Cruz accused Abbate of “stonewalling and covering up serious allegations of evidence of corruption from the president.” When asked if the FBI had a report making those allegations, Abbate refused to comment.

The Allegations

Last month, a whistleblower brought to light the existence of an FD-1023 report in which the informant alleges that President Biden and his family members engaged in a $5 million bribery scheme during his time as vice president. Senator Chuck Grassley also alleged that there are 17 recordings of the informant from Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas company, with 15 of them being voice recordings of him talking to Hunter Biden and two being voice recordings of him talking to Joe Biden.

Despite repeated questioning, Abbate would not reveal if any of the recordings existed.
