Ted Cruz: Biden Behaving Like a Terrorist in Debt Ceiling Battle

Ted Cruz Accuses Biden of “Terrorist” Behavior Over Debt Ceiling

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has accused President Joe Biden of “behaving like a terrorist” in the ongoing fight over the debt ceiling.

During an interview on Fox News, Cruz urged Biden to reconsider his opposition to the legislation passed last week by the GOP-led House. The bill would suspend the debt ceiling through March 31, 2024, or until an increase in debt of $1.5 trillion, in exchange for a host of spending cuts.

Cruz reminded viewers that in 2011, then-Vice President Biden personally negotiated the deal that became the Budget Control Act, which was designed to cut over $2 trillion in debt. Cruz argued that Obama did not engage in “irresponsible fear-mongering” and sent Biden to Congress to negotiate a deal.

Cruz called for the return of the “Joe Biden from 2011” and criticized the current administration for being run by “25-year-old radicals” who are willing to let everything default. He urged Senate Republicans to support the House GOP proposal and stand up to Biden.

Biden and his fellow Democrats insist on a “clean” debt ceiling bill separate from spending cuts or policy concessions. The president has accused Republicans of espousing “wacko notions.”
