According to reports, Taylor Swift turned down an offer from Meghan Markle to appear on her now-canceled Spotify podcast “Archetypes.” The Duchess of Sussex personally reached out to the pop star, but Swift declined through her representative.

The news comes after Spotify announced that it would not be renewing Markle’s podcast for a second season.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Part Ways with Spotify

Prince Harry and Markle’s company, Archewell Audio, produced 12 episodes of the podcast, which aired from August to November 2022. However, Spotify and the royal couple’s company released a joint statement announcing their mutual decision to part ways.

An insider revealed that the royal couple did not produce enough content to justify their $20 million deal with Spotify, leading to the cancellation of the podcast.

Shortly after the news broke, Spotify executive Bill Simmons criticized the Sussexes, calling them “f***ing grifters” and sharing his own story of a Zoom call with Prince Harry to discuss podcast ideas.

At a recent event, United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer also expressed his opinion on Markle’s talent, stating that she was not a great audio talent or any kind of talent at all.

According to sources, Prince Harry had pitched the idea of interviewing figures like Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Mark Zuckerberg about their childhood traumas for his own podcast shows. However, executives found the idea questionable, as these individuals rarely give interviews about their personal experiences.
