Taking On Disney, Fauci, and the Media: The Secrets of Ron’s Success
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R.) has released his new book, The Courage to Be Free, which touches on a variety of topics including his views on Disney, Dr. Fauci, and the media, and his secrets to success. He speaks about how the elites have alienated large portions of Americans, how the Democratic Party has transformed into a “woke dumpster fire,” and how much of the bipartisan establishment in D.C. is riddled with inaction and ineptitude, resulting in many Republican voters feeling unrepresented by the GOP.
His book is essentially a campaign book that introduces the governor to readers and positions himself as a potential presidential contender in the future, as he highlights his personal and political journey from childhood to Congress and now as the governor of Florida. DeSantis grew up in Tampa Bay; he played youth baseball, which helped expand his horizons beyond his blue-collar working-class background. His performance in baseball helped him secure a place at Yale after which he attended Harvard Law School, and entered the political arena after serving in the U.S. Navy.
DeSantis argued for the importance of a governor as president, stating that unlike legislators, governors must have a strong sense of direction and lead with conviction. He also discussed his opposition to the handling of the COVID-19 crisis and the rejection of early treatments, which he referred to as a clinical case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Although he was an ally of Trump during his time in Congress, he also expressed his frustration with the lost opportunities of the Republican Congress after Trump became president.
His book criticized the legacy media, which he referred to as misleading and deceptive. He also highlighted his opposition to the woke assault on education, such as critical race theory.
The book also touches on personal stories such as DeSantis leaving a baseball practice early, unwittingly missing a mass shooting that occurred just moments later.
