Surge In Dead Whales Blamed on “Green” Wind Farms

A record number of dead whales washed up on the Atlantic Coast of America due to the construction of large offshore wind farms.

New Jersey has seen an increase of whale deaths since it constructed an offshore windfarm, which conservationists claim is having an adverse effect on whale navigation.

In protest of the increase in whale deaths, thousands rallied at Point Pleasant beach in New Jersey earlier this week.

Federal scientists say there is no evidence to suggest that offshore wind farms are responsible for the deaths of beached baleen whales. But, local legislators and environmentalist groups insist that the contrary is true.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration kept track of 184 “unusual mortality events” for Humpback whales since 2016 – around 25 per year. In the region, 22 large whales, including 15 humpbacks, have been stranded over the past few months.

Clean Ocean Action, a conservation group, claims that offshore wind energy projects are responsible for whale deaths.

“This alarming number of deaths is unprecedented in the last half-century,” According to the group, they added: “The only unique factor from previous years is the excessive scope, scale, and magnitude of offshore wind powerplant activity in the region.”

Meghan Lapp, secretary of the Center for Sustainable Fisheries said she doesn’t doubt that wind energy projects are to blame.

“What I think is important for the public to understand is that this is not unprecedented when it comes to offshore wind. In the U.K., during the height of their offshore wind activity in 2018, 1,000 whales died and washed up on U.K. beaches. and when people started to make the connection between offshore wind and dead whales, the government, the media and the offshore wind industry quashed it and people began to think, ‘Well, this is just normal.’ It is not normal,” Lapp continued.

Lapp stated that Taiwanese environmentalists raised awareness about this problem in Taiwan, after the whales began washing up. “dead and dead.”

Marjorie Tayor Greene (Georgia congresswoman) brought up concerns about whale deaths. Arguments the ‘green agenda‘ harms the environment more than good.

Marjorie Tayor Greene stated the following during a Hannity appearance: “I don’t know why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) isn’t dressed in white and crying for the dead whales that keep washing up on the beach from wind farms that are being placed all over the ocean.”

“People are calling the alarms over how [wind farms] are not only killing unknown thousands of birds species but also causing whales to beach themselves at record numbers,” Greene stated.
