‘Suicide Squad’ Star Admits She Changed A Scene In New Movie Because She Wanted To Kiss Brad Pitt: ‘Sue Me’

“Suicide Squad” actress Margot Robbie admitted during a recent interview that she lobbied director Damien Chazelle to change a scene in the upcoming film “Babylon” because she wanted the chance to kiss Brad Pitt.

Speaking to E! News — in an interview that aired on Monday — Robbie described “what will become an iconic kiss scene” and then went on to explain how the unscripted moment had made it into the film’s final cut.

“That wasn’t in the script, but I thought, ‘When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’m just gonna go for it,’” she said.

Robbie, who also starred alongside Pitt in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” takes on the role of a struggling actress named Nellie in “Babylon” — which is set against the backdrop of the 1920s. Pitt plays Jack Conrad, an actor Nellie hopes will help her make her way to the top.

“I said, ‘Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack,’” Robbie described how she had presented her idea to the director — and she noted that Chazelle had seen through her almost immediately.

“And Damien was like, ‘Well, she could — wait, hold on. You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt,’” Robbie said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, so sue me. This opportunity might never come up again.’ And he was like, ‘It does work for the character,’ and I was like, ‘I think so.’”

Robbie said that at the time, she had no idea whether or not the kiss would make it to the big screen — but after they ran the scene with the kiss, Chazelle apparently realized that it was a good addition and asked them to run it again.

“He was like, ‘No, do it again. That really works,’” Robbie explained, adding, “I was like, ‘Oh, great.’”

According to “Titanic” director James Cameron, another of Robbie’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” co-stars caused nearly all the women on his staff to rearrange their schedules. When he was casting the 1997 blockbuster and scheduled the first meeting with Leonardo DiCaprio, he explained that all of the women suddenly appeared in the conference room.

“So the meeting was funny, because I’m in my conference room waiting to meet an actor, right? And I look around, and all the women in the entire office are in the meeting for some reason,” Cameron said. “Like, there’s a female executive producer, okay, fine. But our accountant? You know, why was she in the meeting?”
