11-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Series of Robberies in Washington

Hold on to your hats, folks. An 11-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a string of robberies in Washington, D.C. Yes, you read that right. An 11-year-old.

According to WUSA-TV, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that a gun was used in at least two of the robberies.

One of the incidents occurred on May 21, when a man was confronted by two boys after setting his bicycle on his porch and going to open the door to his residence. One of the boys said, “I’m going to take the bike,” to which the man replied, “No, you’re not.” The boy then pulled out a gun from his fanny pack, causing the man to run inside his house. Surveillance footage of two persons of interest was later released by the police.

On Wednesday, just three days later, two suspects on bicycles approached a man and said, “Get him” and “Get that.” The victim fled, and one of the suspects pointed a gun in his direction as he ran.

And if that wasn’t enough, on Friday, a man in a car was approached by a boy on a bike who demanded his phone, threatening to shoot him if he didn’t comply. After handing over the phone, the victim was shocked when the boy handed it back, saying, “Haha got you.” The boy then demanded the man’s car keys and phone, reaching into his fanny pack as if to grab a weapon. Although the boy managed to get into the vehicle, he was unable to drive it away and left on a bicycle instead.

Unbelievably, the suspect in all of these incidents was an 11-year-old boy, who has since been charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and robbery (fear).

Other Shocking Incidents Involving Young Suspects

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only case of young suspects being arrested in D.C. Recently, two 12-year-old boys were arrested in unrelated crimes, according to WTTG-TV. In one incident, a 12-year-old attempted to rob a business, commit a carjacking, and rob a pedestrian in just 10 minutes. In another case, a 12-year-old was charged with six carjackings, two armed robberies, and an assault.

It’s shocking to see such young individuals involved in such serious crimes. Let’s hope that justice is served and that these incidents serve as a wake-up call for parents and communities to work together to prevent such crimes from happening in the future.
