Alaska Residents to Receive $1,312 Direct Payment in Latest Round of Permanent Fund Dividend
Exciting news for eligible Alaska residents! Today, another round of direct payments, worth $1,312 per resident, will be distributed as part of the Permanent Fund Dividend program. This marks the fourth wave of payments since October, with more to come on Thursday.
Requirements and Application Process
To be eligible for this program, applicants must have the intention of remaining a resident of Alaska indefinitely and must not have a felony conviction, among other requirements. The application period runs from January 1 to March 31 each year, although there are exceptions for certain cases.
If you had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status on December 6 and have yet to receive your 2023 or earlier payments, you can expect to receive your check during this distribution wave.
Impact on the State’s Economy
Adam Crum, the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Revenue, expressed his gratitude to the Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their hard work in administering the program and processing applications. He highlighted that this year, they processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022.
Crum also emphasized the positive impact of the 2023 Permanent Fund Dividend, injecting nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly benefiting Alaskans.
Benefiting Current and Future Generations
The Permanent Fund Dividend amounts are determined by mineral revenues from the state of Alaska each year. State officials emphasize that these payments are meant to benefit both current and future generations of residents.
