Alaska fund: $1,312 direct payment in 4 days
More Alaskans to Receive Direct Payments from Permanent Fund Dividend
In just four days, another round of one-time direct payments from the Permanent Fund Dividend will be sent to eligible Alaska residents who have yet to receive their payments. This upcoming batch of checks, worth $1,312 per resident, will be distributed on December 14, as confirmed by the state Department of Revenue.
Qualifications and Application Process
To be eligible for these payments, applicants must have the intention of remaining a resident of Alaska indefinitely and must not have a criminal record. Residents can apply for the payments between January 1 and March 31 each year.
The recipients of the checks being sent out this month are those who still have the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of December 6 and have not yet received their 2023 or earlier payments from the program.
Prior Disbursements and Economic Impact
During the first two mass disbursements on October 5 and October 18, a significant number of eligible residents already received their checks for this year. Another round of payments was sent to a remaining group of eligible residents in November.
Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum expressed his gratitude to the Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their continuous efforts in administering the program and processing applications. He highlighted that this year, over 8,000 more applications were processed compared to 2022. Crum emphasized that the 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly benefit Alaskans.
Program Purpose
The amount of the Permanent Fund Dividend is determined by the mineral revenues for each year in Alaska. State officials emphasize that the program aims to benefit both current and future generations of residents in the state.
