Chelsea Residents to Receive Final Payment from Food and Utility Subsidy Program in 11 Days

Exciting news for Chelsea residents! In just 11 days, 738 households will receive their final payment from the Chelsea Eats program. This subsidy program aims to help families with their food and utility costs, and payments range from $200 to $400.

How the Program Works

Recipients were issued debit cards in early March, and the funds are loaded onto these cards. The first payment was issued on March 15, followed by the second on April 15. The final payment will be issued on May 15.

The amount of the payment depends on the number of people in the household. A household of one receives $200, a household of two receives $300, and a household of three or more receives $400.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program, families must be residents of Chelsea with a household income of 30% less than the area median. For example, households of one must make less than $29,450, and households of two must make less than $33,650. The threshold increases for each additional member of the household.

End of the Program

Unfortunately, this will be the final payment of the program. However, it’s great to see that the Chelsea Eats program has been able to help so many families in need.
