For those who have opted for direct deposit, the funds will be conveniently delivered on June 20. However, for others, paper checks will be issued between June 20 and June 29, as reported by KOAT 7.

Expressing her personal commitment, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM) enthusiastically praised the rebates, emphasizing that it was a top priority for her. She acknowledged the high prices of basic necessities nationwide and highlighted the state’s strong financial position, emphasizing the importance of New Mexico’s families sharing in that success.

If taxpayers have recently changed their address since filing their 2021 tax return, they can easily update it using the Taxpayer Access Point self-service portal on New Mexico’s Taxation and Revenue Department website. Alternatively, they can submit a change of address form to the department.

For those who have updated their banking information after submitting their 2021 tax returns, the rebates will be received through a check in the mail.

It’s worth noting that taxpayers who have not yet filed their 2021 returns still have time to do so. The deadline for filing is May 31, 2024.
