Stephen Moore: End the COVID-19 “Emergency” — Now

Most of the decisions made in Washington and other states that deal with COVID-19 have been about money and politics. It is not about public health.

COVID-19 is a deadly virus that has killed over a million Americans — almost all over the age of 65. However, from the beginning, the misinformation and overreactions from politicians and other members of the public health industry were meant to discredit Donald Trump. It became an excuse for Trump to be removed from office.

For the record: I was present in the Oval Office with Trump many times and he always wanted the economy to be reopened quickly. With the aid of so-called experts like Anthony Fauci (now retired director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases), Democrats and the public healthcare industrial complex wanted lockdowns for as long as they could. They wanted to spend trillions of money to redistribute income.

Now we know that lockdowns were a poor public health measure. They did however, ruin the strongest economy (in an election-year) in 40 decades. Just in time to elect President Joe Biden. It’s so convenient.

Three years after COVID-19 was implemented, politics remains the driving force behind government policy. It became an excuse for Biden to spend trillions of dollars — paid for with debt. COVID-19 is over now for at least one year and a quarter. The flu is no longer a threat from the recent strains. We still have Biden’s “emergency” COVID-19 powers.

Last year, the Senate voted three-times to immediately end COVID-19. It passed all three times with increasing Democratic support for each attempt. The total vote reached 62 votes in November.

Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House (D-Calif.), never allowed a House vote.

Biden now claims that he will end this emergency because the Republicans hold the House. But it won’t be until May! It will be three months before May!

This is dangerous. “threat to democracy” to make the president a dictator. The president can use emergency powers to suspend the normal constitution process and make laws through decree.

Why the crisis that never ends? It all comes down to money. Biden doesn’t want to end the emergency that he himself stated was over many months ago because it allows him to continue dishing out billions of dollars of health and welfare benefits to his voters — automatically and unilaterally.

Do not forget that Biden also used COVID-19 as a means of coping with the crisis. “forgive” Hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt. What does student loans have to offer COVID-19

Biden claims that COVID-19 is over when the Supreme Court declares a state of emergency. Tomorrow, the Supreme Court should remove these dictatorial power from Biden. It’s not about the public health. It’s always about the money.
