The state’s housing department mandates ‌that local jurisdictions must create housing plans every eight years,⁤ including‌ affordable housing⁤ options sold at or below market rate. This requirement, known as a Housing ⁣Element, is aimed ​at addressing the pressing issue of housing affordability.
