‘Star Wars’ Actress Carrie Fisher Finally Getting Her Place On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Get ready to celebrate “Star Wars Day” in the most perfect way possible – by honoring the late, legendary “Star Wars” star, Carrie Fisher, with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Fisher, who famously played Princess Leia in the film franchise, will be posthumously honored on May 4th, according to Fox News. This is the day that many fans have come to call “Star Wars Day,” playing off the famous line, “May the force be with you.” Fisher passed away in December 2016 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 60.

Fisher’s star will be located near the famous El Capitan Theatre and will be the 2,754th star honored in the Motion Pictures category. Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said, “Carrie will join her ‘Star Wars’ co-stars and fellow Walk of Famers Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford on this historic sidewalk. I am happy to add, that her star is just a few feet away from the star of Mark Hamill and across the street from the star of her legendary mother Debbie Reynolds!” Reynolds passed away one day after Fisher.

Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, will accept the star on her mother’s behalf. Mark Hamill celebrated the news, tweeting: “Long overdue & so well-deserved,” followed by the hashtag #CarrieOnForever. Fisher made her film debut in “Shampoo” before starring in the “Star Wars” trilogy. She also appeared in “When Harry Met Sally,” “The Blues Brothers,” and had made television appearances on “Laverne & Shirley,” “Sex and the City,” and was nominated for an Emmy for her work on “30 Rock.”

Don’t miss out on this historic moment – be sure to tune in on May 4th at 11:30 am to witness the unveiling of Carrie Fisher’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. May the force be with you!
