As part of​ this investigation, Smith obtained a warrant directed at Twitter (now known as X) to produce data and records related to Trump’s‍ “@realDonaldTrump” Twitter ‍account.

Probable Cause and Nondisclosure⁢ Order

The district court found probable ‍cause to search the Twitter account for evidence of criminal‍ offenses. To‌ protect the ongoing investigation, the court ​determined​ that disclosing the warrant to ⁣Trump would seriously jeopardize ‌it. Therefore, a⁣ “nondisclosure order” was issued, preventing Twitter from informing⁤ Trump about the warrant.
