McCarthy: Dems Fear Biden’s Impeachment
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy: Democrats “Very Concerned” About Possible Biden Impeachment
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently expressed the growing unease among Democrats regarding the potential impeachment of President Joe Biden by the Republican-controlled chamber.
During an interview with Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures,” McCarthy shed light on the ongoing Republican investigation into the Biden family. He discussed the search for additional evidence surrounding allegations of bribery in relation to the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma, where Hunter Biden served on the board.
“We uncover new information every week,” McCarthy revealed. “We were unaware of the whistleblowers coming forward. We were unaware of the numerous instances where the president misled the American public. Each step we take contradicts the statements made by the Bidens. Can you imagine being a sitting vice president while your family sets up 20 shell companies?”
He continued, ”And not only that, they engage with foreign countries, receiving 16 out of 17 payments from Romania while you hold the position of vice president. And now we have the vice president, who is now president, admitting to using American tax dollars to pressure Ukraine into firing a prosecutor.”
McCarthy highlighted that lawmakers discovered the extent of the pressure placed on Hunter Biden and his business partner to remove the prosecutor during their summer recess.
“There are still many unanswered questions,” McCarthy emphasized. “To obtain these answers, we need an impeachment inquiry to empower Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, to uncover the truth that the American people deserve. I have even had Democrats express their deep concerns because they supported this president based on what he told America. However, with each revelation, we find that it is not true.”
