House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to express his condolences and send prayers to former President Jimmy Carter and his family following the passing of his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter, at the age of 96 on Sunday.
Amidst an outpouring of support flooding the internet, Speaker Johnson joined the chorus of voices offering their sympathies.
“She and President Carter were an outstanding example of love and devotion to one another, and to others through their years of public service and extraordinary charitable works. President Carter and the Carter family are in our prayers today.”
