South Dakota Gov. Noem Threatens Legal Action Against Biden Admin Over Title IX Changes
Gov. Regarding the proposed Title IX changes, which protect women’s’s opportunities in sports, Kris Noem ( R – SD ) is threatening legal action against the Biden Administration.
A policy allowing biological men to play on female sports teams has been put forth by the U.S. Department of Education. A school or college would not be eligible for federal funding under the law if they implemented a” one-size-fits-all” legislation that forbids transgender students from participating in sports teams that are consistent with their gender identity.
” South Dakota won’t let this come ,” she said. We’ll’ll take the lead. We’ll’ll stand up for our laws. Noem tweeted,” Just girls will use girls’ sports.” ” President Biden, we’ll’ll see you in court ,” she said.
In addition to a letter co-signed by 15 Republican governors pleading with the Biden Administration not to proceed with changes to Title IX, Noem signed one of the most difficult bills in the nation last year promising to protect women’s’s sports.
Noem said as he signed the legislation,” This bill’s’s about justice.” It’s’s about giving biological females the chance to compete fairly on an equal playing field with opportunities for success.

According to a statement released on Thursday, the U.S. Department of Education ( Department )” proposes to amend its regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ( Title EX ) to set out an arbitrary standard that would govern recipients’ adoption or application of sex-related criteria, which would limit or deny students’ eligibility to play on male or female athletic teams consistent with their gender identity.”
According to the Biden Administration, prohibiting transgender individuals from participating in sports teams that reflect the gender they identify with at the time would be denying” relative sport opportunity.”
Noem has big backed defending children from the extreme mission of the Left. She pledged to” always stand up for the next age of South Dakotans” when she signed the” Help Not Harm” bill earlier this year, which forbids specific medical and surgical treatments for transgender minors.
