SD Gov Kristi Noem wants to ban drag shows at state colleges.

Gov. Kristi Noem Calls for Action Against “Radical Indoctrination” via Drag Ban

“Across the nation, higher education is in a state of crisis. From prioritizing feelings over facts to radical indoctrination, as a country, we should be ashamed of this,”

– Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD)

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is taking a stand against what she calls “radical indoctrination” in higher education. In a letter to the South Dakota Board of Regents, Noem demanded a cut in the cost of higher education, an increase in apprenticeship programs, and a ban on drag shows taking place on university campuses.

Whistleblower Hotline for University Students

Noem also enacted a whistleblower hotline for university students in South Dakota to submit complaints. The hotline was created to keep universities accountable to South Dakota values and be an example to the nation of what a good higher education looks like.

Graduation Rate Increase

Noem called on the board to raise the graduation rate to 65% by 2028, which is higher than the nationwide rate of 63%. Currently, the statewide graduation rate sits around 47%, according to Noem.

South Dakota’s High Return on Investment

South Dakota has the nation’s highest return on investment per a Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity report from earlier this year. Degrees from any one of the state’s public universities, after considering tuition and fees, bring an average $217,000-lifetime income boost.

The South Dakota Board of Regents has not yet responded to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
