Shocking video surfaces of Ukrainian ‘hunted’ by alleged Russia ‘drone safari’

A video has emerged from Ukraine showing a Russian drone hunting and attempting to kill a civilian at a local market in Kherson.
Ukraine’s National Police released the footage on Tuesday, which shows a 53-year-old man at an outdoor farmer’s market frantically attempting to escape as the unmanned aerial vehicle circles around him. The drone eventually accelerates at him and detonates.

“Today, many were shocked by yet another video of the drone ‘safari’ Russians are carrying out against civilians in Kherson,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday. Every single day, ordinary people in Kherson face these Russian ‘safaris.’”

The victim, who was selling vegetables at the market, is believed to have survived but suffered serious injuries.
Asserting that the Russian government has “gone mad” and is taking “pleasure in killing and abusing civilians,” Zelensky said, “it is simply impossible to imagine the world being able to coexist with this evil.”
He continued: “We must remain resolute in defending life. We must act and support life in ways that force Russia to seriously think about peace rather than expanding the range of its drones.”
As the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine war have turned into a slow-moving meat grinder, drone attacks deep inside enemy territory have become the most consequential strategy for both sides.
“Russia has hit some military targets, but in this war their primary effort has been hitting the civilians and their civilian infrastructure to try to separate the civilians from the Kiev government,” Gen. Philip M. Breedlove, the former NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe, told the Washington Examiner. “Russia’s hope is that, if they can keep pounding the people, then that will cause the people to revolt against the Ukrainian government.”
Drone attacks directly targeting Ukrainian civilians have become increasingly commonplace in Kherson, which is partially occupied by Russian forces near the Dnipro River.
The U.N.’s Independent International Commission assessed back in September 2025 that these “drone safaris” amount to war crimes.
The Kremlin, meanwhile, has decried Ukraine for causing civilian casualties when attacking Russian energy infrastructure. Ukraine struck the area surrounding the Novoselki industrial zone on Tuesday, reportedly killing five people and wounding 10 others.

Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retail outfit, has also become a prominent target for Ukrainian attacks. More than a dozen warehouses belonging to the company have been bombed or set ablaze by drone attacks.
“Close to 60% of the infrastructure for Wildberries has now been burned and destroyed,” Breedlove said. “The lower-income class in Russia doesn’t have the money to use this service. But when you start impacting Russia’s middle and upper classes, this starts hurting small businesses and investors. And people with means now can’t get their packages delivered. It’s a strategic campaign by Kiev to affect the population without killing the population, while Russia is killing Ukrainian civilians.”

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported a “brutal terrorist attack” in the city on Sunday, in which a woman attempted to smuggle a bomb into an upscale Italian restaurant.
“Those responsible for committing this crime will certainly be found and will face the punishment they deserve,” the mayor wrote.
The individual was prevented from entering the restaurant before the bomb exploded, injuring at least 21 people and killing at least three. No further information about the nature of the bombing has been provided by Russian authorities.
