‘She’s Watching Over People’: Prince Harry DISCUSSES Feeling Princess Diana’s ‘Presence Inside Almost Everything’ He Does More than ‘Last 2 Years’
Prince Harry talked about feeling the presence of his late mother Princess Diana more than ever “over the last two years,” and said it definitely feels like “she’s watching” over him and his family.
During an interview with the “Today” show that aired Wednesday, the Duke of Sussex admitted he feels like his late mother is watching over him, Meghan Markle, and their two children, son Archie and daughter Lilibet Diana, when asked if he ever spoke to his son about the late princess. It starts at the 8:58 minute mark in the clip here.
“Very much so,” Harry shared. “I don’t tell him all the stuff that happened, but certainly, ‘This is Grandma Diana,’ and [we’ve got] a couple photos up in the house.”
“For me, [her presence is] constant,” he added. “It has been over the last two years — more so than ever before.”
In March of 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal roles, and eventually ended up leaving the United Kingdom, moving to Southern California.
[embedded content]“It’s almost as though she’s done her bit with with my brother [Prince William] and now she’s very much, like, helping me,” the duke shared. “Got him set up, now she’s helping me set up. That’s what it feels like, you know?”
“He’s got his kids,” he added. “I’ve got my kids. You know, circumstances are obviously different. But I feel her presence in almost everything that I do now. … She’s watching over us.”
Earlier in the interview, “Today” host Hoda Kotb asked about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s surprise visit to the United Kingdom, where he stopped by to see his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II on the way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. It comes at the 4:48 minute mark.
The games, which were started in 2014 by Harry, contain Paralympic-style competition for wounded service members and veterans.
“It was great,” Harry explained. “It was really nice to see her — be able to see her in some element of privacy was nice. I hadn’t had a chance to go back to the U.K. for a couple of years apart from those two times. Once for my grandfather’s [Prince Philip’s] funeral [in April 2021]. And once for unveiling a statue of my mom [July 1, 2021].”
He explained how it was great to see his grandmother, but “home” now for him “is in the states.” He added that it “really … feels” that way where he said he and his family have been “welcomed with open arms.”
As previously reported by The Daily Wire, Harry and Meghan did not travel to the U.K. for his late grandfather’s recent memorial service, due to apparent security concerns.
“The Duke will not be returning to the UK in late March, but hopes to visit his grandmother as soon as possible,” a spokesperson for the pair told Page Six at the time.
