Sherrill stumps in New Hampshire and Massachusetts for fellow veteran bids
Governor Mikie Sherrill (D-VA) has been actively campaigning across New Hampshire and Massachusetts this week, supporting various Democratic candidates including veterans. Her efforts aim to boost her national profile following her significant 2025 gubernatorial victory and her efforts to endorse veteran candidates through her Mission to deliver PAC. She has endorsed candidates like Seth Moulton in Massachusetts and Rep. Maggie Goodlander and Maura Sullivan in New Hampshire, emphasizing her commitment to veterans and public service. While there is speculation about her potential presidential run in 2028, Sherrill has remained somewhat reserved, expressing her desire to influence the political landscape as a power broker. Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D-VA) stumped for several U.S. House and Senate candidates in New Hampshire and Massachusetts this week as she takes her campaigning for fellow veterans on the road.
Sherrill took her New Jersey brand national in early August, backing a slate of over a dozen candidates from 10 states as she tries to build on the momentum from her double-digit 2025 gubernatorial win. As she elevates her national profile, Sherrill headed to the Granite State, where politicians often travel to test the waters for a presidential run, to join several candidates on the midterm campaign trail.

New Jersey politicos have speculated about whether the governor has her sights set on a presidential run in 2028, but so far, Sherrill has stayed out of the direct spotlight as she works in the background, telling Politico in July that she wants to be a power broker in 2028.
“I want to make sure that what we see in any candidate in ’28 and anybody that gets across the finish line, I want to see somebody who is on track with the focus that New Jersey has on creating opportunity for everyone and a great future for our kids,” Sherrill said.
