Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he’s not concerned that Kamala Harris hasn’t done much to address the border crisis.

His remarks came more than two weeks after Joe Biden appointed Harris to lead the White House’s response to the crisis.

Speaking to reporters, Schumer attempted to defend Harris amid the growing criticism she’s received for not visiting the border.

“She’s a very capable person, a thoughtful person and somebody who I think is very capable of coming up with solutions,” Schumer explained.

Since being tasked with addressing the flood of illegal immigrants at the border, Harris has visited several states, including her home state of California for Easter, but has yet to visit the southern border.
