Sen. Graham says Senate should spend previous stimulus funds first

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) argued against spending more taxpayer money on COVID-19 relief until the money from the last stimulus has been spent. Speaking from the Senate floor on Friday, Graham said there is still billions in unspent funds sitting in the federal reserve from last year’s CARES Act.
He went on to argue that since the Senate passed President Trump’s 2020 bill, “things are looking better.” The senator added he would want to slow down and spend the money “not spent wisely” before embarking on a $1.9 trillion “spending spree.”

“Another point for the American people, of all the money I just described to you that we appropriated in a bipartisan fashion, we haven’t spent it all yet,” Graham stated. “Of the administrative actions, we’ve got still $200 billion left to spend. Of the legislative appropriations, we’re appropriated $4.1 trillion. We’ve got a trillion we haven’t spent yet, but we’re going to spend $1.9 trillion more.”
Graham also pointed out most of the Democrats’ relief package goes to blue state pet projects and has nothing to do with the pandemic.
