Seditious Six member Slotkin praises Iranian propaganda
Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) praised Iranian propaganda, saying it is indeed unlike anything she has seen from an adversarial country adn argued it reflects a strong understanding of U.S. culture.Commenting at the 2026 *Politico* Security Summit, she criticized President Donald Trump’s approach to negotiations over the Iran war-joking she “wouldn’t be negotiating it over Twitter”-then shifted to highlighting Iran’s use of X and online messaging.
Slotkin appeared to reference pro-Tehran social media efforts, including artificial, Lego-style videos paired with hip-hop/rap and claims that the U.S. is beholden to Israel while mocking trump and his governance. She also suggested Iran was better positioned in its conflict with the U.S., downplaying U.S. pressure tactics such as a naval blockade and claiming Iran is still able to get oil out thru other routes. Her remarks are likely to intensify backlash, especially given Trump and critics’ prior accusations that she helped fuel “insubordination” tied to a video dubbed by the administration the “Seditious Six,” and her account that her family has faced harassment.

Slotkin also spoke about the negative attention she’s received over the sedition allegations, saying she kept a lower profile in the immediate aftermath, as her lawyers suggested. She claimed her elderly father was swatted and harassed over the criticism.
