Second Democrat Lawmaker Will Enter Race To Push Feinstein Out Of The Senate

Two sources close to the matter reported that Barbara Lee, a Democratic California Representative, told members of the Congressional Black Caucus on Wednesday that she intends to run for the Senate seat currently held long-term by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D–CA). Submitted Politico.

Lee’s decision comes after Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) announced a run for the U.S. Senate in 2024 with a video ad on Twitter.

Feinstein responded to Porter’s announcement with a brief statement, saying that she was preoccupied with the devastating storms that were still ravaging California and would think about the next election at a later date.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is also reportedly a potential candidate for Feinstein’s seat, according to Politico. Schiff has said before that he might run for the seat if Feinstein decides to retire and that he has already spoken to Feinstein about the possibility, a person close to Schiff told the outlet.
