Saudi Arabia will likely cooperate with Israel once Gaza war ends: Hugh Hewitt – Washington Examiner
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt expressed the belief that Saudi Arabia is likely to cooperate with Israel after the conflict in Gaza comes to an end. He suggested that any formal agreements may be tied to the ongoing peace process in the region. Hewitt noted that during President Donald TrumpS recent meeting with Saudi Crown Prince mohammed bin Salman, a notable $600 billion investment commitment was announced, which he believes could position Saudi Arabia for potential collaboration on the Abraham Accords, particularly given israel’s technological advancements.
Hewitt emphasized the importance of achieving stability adn quiet in Gaza as a prerequisite for any deals between saudi Arabia and israel. He argued that Saudi Arabia recognizes the necessity of Israeli technology for its future economic and defense strategies, especially as the country seeks to prepare for a post-oil era. while discussions of a potential agreement may take place during Trump’s Middle East visit, Hewitt indicated that a formal resolution would likely not materialize until the Gaza war concludes.
Saudi Arabia will likely cooperate with Israel once Gaza war ends: Hugh Hewitt
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt predicted it is likely Saudi Arabia will work with Israel in the near future, though he suggested such efforts would not take place until peace is achieved in the Gaza Strip.
President Donald Trump met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, during which the Trump administration announced it had secured a $600 billion investment commitment. Hewitt suggested that Saudi Arabia is likely going to make an agreement on the Abraham Accords within Trump’s second term, citing how Israel’s expertise in technology would help secure the country’s presence in this field.
“Again, Israel’s the technology engine of the region. They make the advances in AI that we don’t make, and they know how to get this stuff done,” Hewitt said on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom. “And MBS wants his country to be ready for when the oil runs out in a couple of centuries, so he needs Israeli technology, Israeli know-how.”
Hewitt argued that a deal related to the Abraham Accords is unlikely to be reached until after the war between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group has concluded. As such, a deal is highly unlikely to be reached during Trump’s visit to the Middle East, concluding on Thursday, but will likely be achieved before Trump leaves the White House due to the president’s support for helping Israel end the war against Hamas.
He reiterated how “quiet” needs to be achieved in Gaza first, as a source has told him the Saudis want this foremost.

On the $600 billion deal reached between the United States and Saudi Arabia, Hewitt said that the latter country will be “very good” for the former’s defense establishment. He speculated that Saudi Arabia wants its own “Iron Dome” for its kingdom, citing how some Houthi terrorist attacks have hit the country.
Trump’s trip to the Middle East began as Hamas released its last living U.S. hostage on Monday. Trump is also visiting Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
