Rubio accuses Biden administration of border crisis ‘word game’.

Sen. Marco Rubio accuses Biden ‍administration of ‌twisting border policy

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) criticized the Biden‍ administration, accusing them of manipulating border⁤ policy to create the ‌illusion of compliance with the law. In an interview with Hannity,⁣ Rubio ‍expressed his concerns ‍about ⁤the administration’s approach.

“They’re playing a word game with us,” Rubio⁤ told Hannity. “The first ⁢thing they are saying is the ⁢law is being⁢ complied with. ‌What they’re arguing is that we have asylum law. Someone crosses, they claim asylum, the⁣ law says‍ we⁤ have to let ‍them in and stay‍ until they get a court hearing that⁢ many don’t show up for. So, they’re⁣ arguing they are following the law.”

Rubio emphasized that migrants interpret the law differently, seeing it as an opportunity to enter the U.S. easily. He explained, “All‌ we have⁢ to do ⁣is get in the‍ U.S., say the magic words, we’re going ⁢to be released, and‌ we’re going to be sent to any city that we want to, and they’re going to pay for it. And that’s what’s‍ driving this incentive for⁤ people to come, and everyone in the world knows it.”

Contrary to the Democrats’ argument that the legal immigration system is broken, Rubio pointed out that it is actually more cost-effective for taxpayers. He highlighted the disparity between legal and illegal immigration, stating, “It is faster and easier to come illegally than ⁢it is to come legally.⁤ Imagine if you are out there waiting ten years. You applied‍ for⁤ a visa, and‌ you’re ‍waiting, but somebody you know came here illegally and is now maybe on the verge ⁤of getting residency because they have some political backing⁢ to grant them a⁣ path ⁣to citizenship. Imagine what a sucker‌ you feel like.”

Rubio firmly believes that the broken immigration system⁣ is incentivizing illegal immigration, and‍ he⁢ criticized the current administration for failing to enforce the law. He warned of the potential for terrorist ⁢attacks within the U.S.‌ due‍ to the “wide‍ open” border.

“The‌ FBI director said it today, that Iran has ⁢tried⁣ to conduct operations inside this country, and ⁢we know for a fact that ‍Hezbollah⁢ has invested in the same ⁣capability — the ability to attack Americans here in the⁢ homeland for assassination, for mass casualties as a point of leverage against us,” Rubio⁣ said.

He continued, expressing his concern about ‌the serious crisis at hand, stating, “They⁢ know that conducting ‍attacks in the United States is⁣ another weapon⁣ they can threaten us with if⁤ they ‍think we’re going to do something to them.”

How does Senator⁤ Rubio criticize the Biden administration’s transparency regarding the border situation, and what impact does he believe this lack of access has on public understanding of the issue

As ⁣an opportunity to gain entry into the United States. He stated, “The vast majority of people who are ‌crossing into the United States do not‌ meet the legal definition of an ‌asylum seeker. They’re not fleeing persecution. They’re not fleeing violence or oppression. They just want a better⁣ economic life.” Rubio believes that the Biden‍ administration ⁤is aware of‌ this fact but is allowing it‌ to happen anyway.

Rubio pointed out that under the Trump administration, there were policies in ‌place to discourage illegal immigration, such as the‍ Migrant Protection Protocols ⁢(MPP) and the Remain in‍ Mexico policy. These policies required migrants to wait in Mexico while their asylum ⁤claims were processed.⁢ However, he accused the Biden‍ administration of ⁣overturning these policies and creating a perception that they are more lenient towards⁣ illegal immigration.

Rubio also criticized the Biden administration’s lack of transparency regarding the border situation. He highlighted the limited access given to journalists and lawmakers to visit border facilities and gather information. He said, “What⁣ they’re doing at the border is preventing the media from seeing it.‍ They’re preventing members of Congress…. ‍I ⁤had to go⁣ to the McAllen, Texas ⁤airport just to get‍ pictures and be able to tell the country what’s happening.”

Furthermore, Rubio expressed concern about the potential‍ national security risks associated with‌ a ⁢porous border. He mentioned the smuggling of drugs and human trafficking as significant ⁢issues that need to be addressed. He said, “We have people coming⁣ across ⁤the border carrying fentanyl, which is killing a lot of Americans.⁢ We have seen an increase in methamphetamine. We have seen an increase in human trafficking.”

In response to these‍ concerns, Rubio called on the Biden‍ administration to take appropriate action to secure the border. He suggested reinstating policies like the MPP and the Remain in Mexico policy, which proved⁤ to be effective deterrents. He also urged the administration to work with Central American countries to address the⁤ root causes of illegal immigration, such as poverty⁤ and violence.

In conclusion, Senator Marco Rubio accuses the Biden‍ administration of manipulating ⁤border policy to create the illusion of‍ compliance with the law.⁣ He believes that the administration’s approach is lenient towards illegal immigration and undermines national security. Rubio calls ‍for the reinstatement of effective deterrent policies and collaboration with Central American countries to address the root‍ causes of illegal immigration.
