Ron DeSantis dodges when asked if Iowa trip ‘first indication’ of 2024 run

DeSantis made Friday’s trip to Iowa, the early GOP primary state. He met with Gov. Kim Reynolds, other local officials and DeSantis promoted his book and touted his record in Florida to be a model for the nation. His book Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Survival: The Courage to be Free, hit shelves last month. Later, he promoted the Iowa trip via Twitter.

“THANK YOU, IOWA! Together, Iowa and Florida are leading the way for a freer and safer nation… …And we’re just getting started,” He tweeted Sunday a video of the trip and shared it on Twitter.

DeSantis did not promote the trip. He was also coy about the presidential undertones. His visit included stops in Davenport as well as Des Moines. DeSantis is also Visit the following: Nevada, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and possibly South Carolina in the coming weeks.

“Your Governor, Kim Reynolds, is a friend of mine, and I often tell people when they asked me in Florida, you know who else has done a good job, and I always say, you look what Iowa has done,” DeSantis added. “We got a great response across two different cities.”
