Ro Khanna Declines California Senate Run, Endorses Barbara Lee

Rep. Ro Khanna( D – CA ) declared on Sunday that he would not challenge Sen. Dianne Feinstein‘s decision to retire in 2024.

After giving the matter months of thought, Khanna declared to CNN that he would support Rep. Barbara Lee( D-CA) in the race rather than Sen. Bernie Sanders( I – VT)’ s leftist supporters.

I’ve come to the conclusion that, despite the joy of Bernie supporters, the House of Representatives is the best, most memorable, and action-packed place for me to serve as a progressive, Khanna told” State of the Union” host Jake Tapper.

He continued,” I’m honored to be co-chairing Barbara Lee’s system for the Senate and supporting her right. We require a powerful anti-war legislator, and she will fill that position.

California has a primary election program that will only allow for one vote in the U.S. Senate culture. Regardless of party, the top two vote-getters may advance to the general election.

Reps. Adam Schiff and Katie Porter, two other well-known Democratic members of the House, are opponents in the election, but Khanna, whose city is in Silicon Valley, provides Lee with a crucial friend.

Even before Feinstein announced last month that she would not run for re-election, Schiff already received a sizable House endorsement from former Speaker Nancy Pelosi( D-CA ).

Khanna expressed” support” for Schiff and Porter, two prominent Democrats who raise money, but he praised Lee for giving the Senate a” different voice.”

Khanna claimed that she was the only person to voting against Afghanistan’s never-ending battle. ” She resisted the war in Iraq now vehemently. She collaborated with me in trying to put an end to the Yemeni army and the war powers’ resolution.

He acknowledged that” picture” played a significant role in his choice.

There isn’t a simple African American woman serving in the US Senate. She did take over that position, according to Khanna of Lee. She will represent Northern California alone, and I believe she did unite many democrats. Although the other two are good contenders, I believe Barbara Lee will be particularly good.

In a message on Sunday, Lee expressed her gratitude to Khanna. She also displayed some of her communist credentials, including her guidance for the” Medicare for All” care system and other causes.

Lee declared,” I may fight every day to advance our shared liberal agenda of repealing the legislature, ending student debt, and Medicare4All.”
