Former University of Kentuckyswimmer Riley Gaines slammed former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas by calling the transgender athlete “an arrogant cheat” who “stole a national title.”

In a message on Sunday, Gaines pursued Thomas, with whom she had previously competed in the NCAA swimming finals in 2022.

Gaines penned,” Lia Thomas is never a courageous, courageous woman who EARNED” the title of nation.

Gaines continued by claiming that the” NCAA” is to blame for Thomas’ behavior, calling him” an arrogant, cheat who STOLE A NATION’S AWARD FROM A HARDWORKING, DESERVING WOMAN.”

In response to an ESPN category honoring the transgender diver as part of its Women’s History Month events, the 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer made the remarks against Thomas.

Gaines, a spokesperson for the Independent Women’s Forum, has previously criticized Thomas and stated that she feels compelled to do so because no one else would.

Gaines told the Washington Examiner in February,” I thought there would be something, whether that be a leader, another diver, or another within the NCAA, I thought certainly somebody would roll up for us.” ” That’s when I understood that, as a female athlete who has faced this it, it is my responsibility to speak out for those female athletes who are gassed into silence and subjected to emotional blackmail.”

This month, the GOP-led House made an announcement that it would introduce legislation banning biological boys from participating in women’s sports.
