Rhode Island Democrat David Cicilline To Resign From Congress

Rep. David Cicilline, D-RI, announced Tuesday that he will resign as a member of Congress. This follows 12 years of service during which he was one of the Democratic Party’s most powerful political foes of former President Donald Trump.

In a statementCicilline stated that he would remain in office until June 1, 2023 when he will take over as the president and CEO of Rhode Island Foundation. A powerful charity nexus in state.
