RFK Jr. rejects accusations of antisemitism at House hearing: ‘Unfair attacks, misinterpretation’

Democratic presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defends past comments, claims he is being smeared

Last week, Kennedy made ⁣controversial⁢ remarks about ‍COVID-19, suggesting it was “ethnically targeted” and disproportionately affecting certain‍ races. He specifically mentioned that Caucasians and Black people were being attacked, while Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people​ seemed to have more⁤ immunity. Kennedy acknowledged the existence of papers showing racial and ethnic differentials but did not‍ confirm⁢ if the virus was deliberately ⁤targeted.

Defending his statements

During a hearing on censorship hosted by the House​ Select Committee on the Weaponization⁢ of the Federal Government, Kennedy defended his previous statements,​ despite video ⁣evidence proving otherwise. ⁤He vehemently denied ever​ uttering‌ racist or antisemitic phrases⁣ and ‌accused those criticizing him of attempting to censor him through smears, misinterpretations, and lies.

Republicans’ response

While some House Republicans leadership denounced Kennedy’s comments,⁣ they still allowed him​ to testify before the committee. Subcommittee chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) disagreed with⁣ Kennedy’s statements but emphasized his belief in free speech and opposition to censorship. House Majority Leader Steve⁢ Scalise (R-LA) condemned Kennedy’s remarks but also defended his appearance before the committee, citing the importance of discussing the selective shutdown of opposing viewpoints by Democrats.
