Republicans need to cinch less than one-third of remaining congressional races nationwide in order to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives, according to a media analysis of still-open elections around the country.

GOP candidates “need to pick up just 7 seats of the 23 competitive races that remain uncalled to reverse Democrats’ razor-thin majority in the House,” the Epoch Times reported on Saturday.

The outlet noted that that Republicans “hold a lead of 211 House seats against Democrats’ 199” several days after the last ballots were cast in the 2022 midterms.

With 218 seats needed for a majority in the House, GOP candidates need to take just seven more seats out of just under two dozen remaining.

Among the several states in which races are being called, California has the majority, with 13.

States such as Oregon, Colorado and Alaska are also waiting on returns.
